Operating Steps
- Finding the Bottom with Lead Weight: Wrap the lead skin around the lead seat and throw it into the water. Move the float until two eyes are exposed, and the distance from the lead weight to the point where the two eyes are exposed is the approximate water depth.
- Lowering the Float: The distance moved is generally the length of the leader line plus 10 centimeters. Then begin trimming the lead skin and cast the fishing rig until two eyes of the float are exposed.
- Finding the Bottom with Bait: Attach bait to the hook, cast it into the water, and adjust to the desired eye level.
- Setting the Fishing Depth: Raise the float by 10 centimeters and set the fishing depth according to the situation.
Knowledge Expansion
Float adjustment is an essential step in fishing. Especially in unfamiliar waters, where the underwater situation is unknown, float adjustment helps to roughly understand the water depth and find suitable fishing spots. There are various methods for float adjustment, and the approach may vary depending on the situation, but the underlying principle is the same. The first step is to determine the water depth, as this allows you to control the position of the hook and bait underwater. Then, trim the lead skin to control the float setting, and adjust the float to control the fishing depth. The height of the fishing depth setting determines whether the fishing action is sensitive or dull.
