“Seven Whites and Three Connections” is a way to describe the coat color of Border Collies. The “Seven Whites” refer to the dog’s four paws, neck, nose bridge, and tail tip—all of which are white. The “Three Connections” mean that the white fur on the neck isn’t interrupted by other colors, the white on the nose connects to the white collar around the neck, and the white on the two front legs also connects up to the white fur on the neck.
However, “Three Connections and Seven Whites” isn’t a standard for judging a Border Collie’s quality. When assessing a Border Collie, you should look at whether its overall body shape is balanced and if its temperament is gentle.
